I started learning the piano when I was 6 years old, winning many awards at competitions, and started playing the piano in ensembles with various instruments and vocalists at school and church.
I have been teaching students for 20 years, holding numerous concerts and helping students develop their musical sound. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in piano from Yeungnam University in Korea, I graduated with a master’s degree in piano performance from Yeungnam University, and then I entered the path of a performer and piano accompanist through a solo concert.
I started to make a name for myself by playing Mendelssohn, Variation Serieuses Op.54 as a representative of my school, and I participated in the final of the KBS Piano Concerto Competition in Seoul, Korea by playing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto Op. 18 No. 2. I also developed a relationship with contemporary music through master classes, and I came to like Rachmaninoff’s piano pieces even more while studying them in a master class with a Russian professor. I studied pedagogy at George Mason University and continued to challenge myself with learning.
At Catholic University in the United States, I took on the role of accompanist for the cello professor’s students, had a recital with a doctoral student cellist, and performed with the Metropolitan Choir at the Kennedy Center Hall as an accompanist.
