As a passionate musician, I am committed to sharing my love of music with others through teaching and performing. My goal is to help my students understand the beauty and emotional depth of music while developing their skills in playing instruments and understanding the language of music.
I began my musical journey at the age of five with piano lessons, and later progressed to cello lessons at the age of seven. At 12, I was accepted into the affiliated middle school of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree from the Central Conservatory of Music and completed two master’s degrees in Music and Musical Arts at Yale University School of Music under the guidance of Mr. Aldo Parisot, with full scholarships.
Throughout my career, I have performed in many of the world’s most renowned concert halls as a soloist, chamber musician, and principal cellist in orchestras, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China, the Beijing Concert Hall, the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul, South Korea, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan, the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center in the USA. I have also been invited to participate in prestigious music festivals worldwide, including the Beijing Modern Music Festival, the Asia Youth Orchestra in Hong Kong, the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, the MorningSide Music Bridge in Canada, the Banff Center Chamber Music Residency in Canada, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and the Bard Music Festival in the USA.
When I’m not teaching or performing music, I enjoy cooking and spending time with family and friends.
